    Subject Line: Do Holidays mean Overeating?
    Preview: Is it possible to enjoy a holiday where it isn’t all about food?

    Hook Line: I was a bit confused and shocked. I’m in Namibia, in sandals and socks, in a gym, and it’s early morning, what is happening?!

    A little bit of context if you don’t know Jaini pre the year 2020. See I was the kind of person who wants to wake up late, have a massive breakfast to make the most of the hotel buffet, be sure to eat at every opportunity because “hey, you’re on holiday!” and would feel a little lazy and want to just do the simplest of things.

    But now, I find myself in a very different position. It’s early morning, I’ve chosen to wake up and go to the gym AND be happy about it. This wasn’t a forced decision. This presented an opportunity to reflect and recognise what’s changed, and am I happy about it? Was it easy to get here?

    Well it’s definitely a process, I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to be the person who works out or who chooses to say no to dessert when on holiday. But am I happy? YES!! It was a decision worth making because now holidays are so much more FUN! It started by changing the way I look at food and paying attention to what kind of life I want to have and then becoming the person that can live that life.

    I’ve realised that I don’t actually have to focus on food, but can focus on having FUN and ENJOYMENT. And now, ENJOY a holiday to me means being active, being able to wake up and watch sunrises, be in a great mood, feel healthy and energetic in my body, and soak up every moment by being as present as possible with my clear mind.

At 30 Jaini felt like she was 60 and knew something had to change. In January 2020 she embarked on a health journey that turned everything around from having more energy, to having normal thyroid function and being happier on a day to day basis. She left her corporate law career and became a Food Relationship Coach and a Rapid Transformational Therapist to help others also rewrite their health stories. She loves to be camping in the bush if she's not coaching, being outdoors and always being curious about how we can be better than yesterday.
