Here’s my ‘beyond your bio’ email. I would love feedback. Make sense, flow missed anything?
How to feel Beautiful when you feel messyI’m writing this letter to you from our living room couch here in Central Oregon.
This week, our home is starting to feel just right.
Hoodoo ski resort opened so my family is planning all the weekend snow days and with the holidays around the corner, our family and all five granddaughters will be under one roof.
You might be gearing up to see your family soon, too.
Maybe you’re counting the days because you cannot wait.
Or maybe… you’re quietly bracing yourself.
Because let’s be real—holidays can be messy.
I deal with messy! Extremely well.
When I worked in the financial industry how you handled yourself and communicated with your team during tough times is what determined how successful you were with clients trusting you with their money.
It lead me to have great skills in listening to people’s concerns and asking questions so that I understood them.Thats what your unique photo shoot experience is with me. A time for us to explore your concerns, look at them honestly, get curious about beliefs and ask questions so that we can re frame them.
Is your concern that you will look fat? That your not photogenic? That you don’t have or want to wear lingerie? That you have anxiety? Maybe you secretly hate your body? Is the voice in your head telling you your not worthy of photos?
I am here to support you, listen to you, delve into your mess with you. And photograph the amazing human that you are then show “her” to you so that you can start to change your narrative.
I can’t wait for you to be counting the days because you cannot wait to share about your photo shoot and proudly display your pictures.
Reply to this email and we can get the conversation started and your perfect shoot date on the calendar.

Agreed with Annett, there are 2 great emails sitting in here! Love the whole family christmas idea and it being messy- use that as a theme for an email on how you help people with the messy- your unique photoshoot is like christmas family time and navigating that. And a second email is about your incredible skills you picked up in the financial industry of being able to listen to people’s concerns and ask questions and guide to a happy result.

I feel like you have two stories, the family coming/skiing etc and the previous financial job and they don’t really relate to each other. And I thought you were heading towards a family photo shoot and then deeper down it sounded like more of a boudoir shoot.
I didn’t really get a sense of what the ‘messy’ is that you are trying to convey, but if you use that title, I’d go with something like Your mess is beautiful or turn your mess into beauty. It’s just more powerful and active.
You could, using the family story, talk about all the things that go wrong when family gathers and how you feel like you didn’t do enough, or you are not a good host or your focus so much on what’s wrong that you miss out on all the beauty, love, laughter, etc when family gathersr and how your family mess helped you relate to the messy beliefs people have about having their photos done (if you specifically do boudoir, I would say that). We may feel we aren’t beautiful enough, or deserving too fat or whatever and we stay in our mess instead of recognizing our beauty or whatever. And then I don’t just take your photo, I listen to your mess and turn it into something beautiful that will change the way you see yourself.
Or whatever, but go deeper into the emotion and use one story.
