MythBuster v1 – Is Willpower the Best Motor for Change?
Not sure about the title yet. And Fact 2 can probably be split in two.Fact 1- The amount of willpower you have is finite. And will raise or lower depending on physical & mental health, vitality, energy levels, stress, trauma, sleep, what’s important to you &/or what else is on you…Read More

Hello Joel, I am one of your Zoom Mates. For the title, I would prefer Is Willpower the Best Motivator/Motivation for Change? I can relate to the fact that you present and find them compelling to try hypnosis. Fact 1: I would use nouns for all reasons. Fact 2, I would add the horse as an example to visualize what you mean. Let’s imagine a horse…Read More

Maybe make the Myth an erroneous statement to make it more catchy. Like “You have to go through the misery of white-knuckling-it to change your life.”

Well, my 1st PSA was 400 characters too long for LI, and I didn’t feel like editing any more, so FB it is. 🙂

I finally did a FB Live of my PSA. In my determination to get it done, I forgot my microphone. Well, here it is: https://www.facebook.com/LearnGermanThroughArt/videos/555911942613599. Not perfect, but done.

Hi Kerstin, I liked your video. The last part about practicing with a partner and the cultural aspects felt the strongest. Maybe an example here or elsewhere would have been a nice add, but a very good job regardless.

PSA – I have a Love/Hate Relationship w/ Entertainment Hypnosis
– I once had a woman run away when I told her that I was a hypnotist. She ran shouting, “don’t look at me, don’t talk to me.”
Books, Movies, Videos, and more have helped create the myth that a hypnotist can control someone’s mind in trance.
These fictional beliefs and fears a…Read More -
PSA 3 – I re-recorded this because I realized that I default to a tendency to educate/explain vs. activate/attract and engage. It is an important lesson for me to remember. Also ruminating on your feedback to turn the heat up; e.g., is there a more ‘appropriate’ way to do this on Linkedin vs. FB? (Never got a Twitter account — sounds to me like a…Read More

Good job on lessening the educate/explain and pivoting more toward activate/attract/engage. You are great on video. I looked at the whole post on LI – there are so many calls to action in the text I actually didnt’ know what to do. When you look back at that post, can you see it now that I have mentioned it? If you were to post this video again -…Read More

Hi Nancy! Sorry for my late reply here. I watched both the takes, the one on YouTube and Linked In. Great job!! The copy is nice and tight, and I feel like it will resonate with your target audience. When I watched the youtube video, I sped it up to 1.25, and felt like that helped the flow and increased the “pep”, but of course the pauses…Read More

Hi Nancy, Sorry for my late reply as well. You are getting better, and I’m going to echo Jessica’s thoughts on some of the pacing. And there are really brilliant places in this video like “the Kick-Ass Lotus Blossom Club” and when you talk about your client & your father hanging up the phone These are wonderful examples of where your tonality &…Read More
