    • Yay! I love these. And I really love this messaging: “There is no one you-er than you.” The subject line for email 1 is too long. REmember, about 5 words max. Otherwise these are great (do need to proofread again). And I LOVE the content you included!

    • I like the personalization of your subject line, but would rather see the full name of the resources as my preview text.

    • Insight of the day. I am tired of dealing with amateurs wrapped up in scarcity thinking.

      • GOOD – then it’s time to jump in a smaller pond with bigger FISH you can photograph. This also means your messaing needs to shift to your new level 5 buyer. Great awareness.

    • Love the visual charisma. Stopped me in my tracks and made me think.

    • With this shift – here is the messaging upgrades I see: 1) Brand Illumination Photographer (one title – tighten it up). In your “I Help statement”: be sure to say “veteran or established” this will weed out a lot of the scarcity and all in your fish! 3) CTA: Schedule Your Brand Illumination Session Today 4) I think your WHAT here is actually…Read More

    • Hey Dan! I like this story, and I can see how it ties directly into the work you do now. For me, it feels like the story from the past takes up more of your email than how it relates to what you do now. Is there a way you can shorten the past story and lengthen how it ties into your current process?

    • I agree with Carrie’s comment above. I do love how you relate your improv experience to what you do now with photography. It sounds like you do the thinking and set the stage, creating a safe space and a great environment, and all your client has to do is show up and play and be themselves? That sounds SO freeing!…Read More

    • Thanks, Carrie and Blair! I slept on it, and decided the focus of the piece was off. Here’s my rewrite.

      • Ever get self-conscious in front of the camera?

If you’re a coach, consultant, entrepreneur, or transformational leader you know you need compelling brand photos to presence yourself online. But step in front of the camera and . . . CLUNK. You feel awkward, stiff, self-conscious, adrift. And, yeah, the images often reflect your discomfort.

        I…Read More

  • Doesn’t meet the criteria of this month’s topic, but I wanted to share a great client story that demonstrates my expertise. (Show it, don’t tell it!)

Badassity can come in deceptive packages.

“I’m just a little old lady that likes to write,” were among the first words out of Sue’s mouth on our brand discovery call.

    True statement –…Read More

    • Dan, this speaks directly to your expertise. The things you draw our attention to, isn’t stuff most of us would notice consciously or know. I found myself going back to the photo to see what I’d missed on my first pass. I also love this line: “Badassity can come in deceptive packages.” 😁 One question… I don’t quite understand what “hard, hard”…Read More

      • Thanks, Ann! I’m not 100% good on that line in the photo. Sue writes in a genre called “hard science fiction”, meaning it’s grounded in actual science. She’s a stickler for that. I was also looking for a line that would contrast with Sue’s little-old-lady physicality. Thanks for your thoughtful feedback!
